episode 9: there is a difference between discomfort and pain

I hold the relatively unpopular opinion that most of contemporary society normalizes comfort to its detriment. Learning to push past discomfort - to sit with, lean into, and learn from uncomfortable feelings or situations - is integral to personal growth and success. There's nothing wrong with your mental health if you feel uncomfortable from time to time - feelings of anxiety or trepidation or fear are completely natural!

In this episode I explore this boundary between discomfort and pain. I illustrate the difference between the two with a very real personal story from my athletic past. And we'll dive into some strategies for harnessing our discomfort to lead to growth! Listen here.
