episode 56: how to be self aware instead of self centered

So much about personal development revolves around talk of the "self."  Self help, self esteem, self love, self development...you get it!

I don't dispute that we all need to focus on ourselves.

However, one thing that tends to get overlooked in working on the "self" is simple self-awareness.  Getting out of our heads, seeing how we interact with others, being conscious of our thought patterns, understanding how our pasts govern our present actions - that is all self-awareness.  And without that, focusing on our "selfs" tends to lead us down a path toward becoming more self-centered, not enlightened.

In this episode, we explore the idea of self-awareness, along with several methods for developing our sense of it. Listen here.

Let me know what your experience is like with these methods - I'd love to hear from you! Connect with me on my Instagram page.
